I strongly believe in Attachment Parenting, while Shauna's Daddy is into Super Nanny 'Cry it Out'/Discipline school of thought.
Shauna's been super clingy to me the past 2 mths, and insist i carry her all the time when we are out, and even sometimes when we are at home. Twice she created a scene in public, hugging my legs refusing to move, crying and whining. (is this a tantrum??)
Daddy keep asking me to just shake her off and leave her there, she will learn! But i do not agree, that will make her insecure.. she needs to trust that we are there for her, and not abandon her. (AP theory) So our debate continues...
This clingy problem is really getting into me, cos i am concerned she is not learning to be independent. (don't toddlers her age walk around exploring everything??)
Mayb 10 yrs down the road, i read this blogpost - i will shake my head and laugh at really how trivial this is.. but for now, i will still worry, always mentally reminding myself to let Shauna develop at her own time, and praying to Heavenly Father to guide me. Toddlerhood is such a tough time for mummies!
