It was an ad-hoc FHE. We had the kids in quiet mode in the bedroom after dinner that evening, so Daddy decided we conduct a FHE right at that moment.
Daddy gathered the Children's song book and the Book of Mormon stories, and asked if Shauna wld like to do the opening prayer. She went, ok. And said the loveliest prayer.. "Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for everything, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." Then Daddy taught us a new song:"I am like a Star". Then he started to tell us the first story in the Book of Mormon stories: Lehi leaving Jerusalem. Shauna was so attentive and interested! and when the story ended, she asked abt the next story - the Faith of Nephi. Why did he go back to get the Brass Plates? Why were his brothers afraid? She then wanted us to tell her the next story on the Liahona, but Daddy said that was enough for this FHE, we will continue next week.
Then, Daddy asked who wld like to say the closing prayer? I said i will do it, but before i cld start, Shauna closed her eyes and prayed again, " Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for everything, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen." and then she gave us such a big smile, she melted our hearts!
Refreshments: warm banana bread (from Boston) and soya milk.
Meanwhile, during the whole FHE, little Jarel was like a monkey... crawling here and there, cannot keep still. Haha.. Mayb he will be more of a FHE participant when he is a little older.
