We are seeing symptoms of her approaching what they call the "terrible twos" stage.. (in Attachment Parenting, they use terrific two... hmmm... not sure abt that)
These days she's been testing my patience.. i find myself closing my eyes to say a silent prayer to control my temper, or counting 1-10 under my breathe very frequently.
Her First Tantrum
She threw her first full fledge tantrum on us in Malacca during breakfast - insisted Mummy carries her NOW. When Mummy said to wait, she started whining.. and whined non stop thru out the whole breakfast. Then finally we finished with the meal, and got up - she continued hugging my legs tightly and crying and screaming "-ry, -ry!" meaning carry!
By the time Mummy managed to reach the exit of the restaurant, her tantrum oredi turned uncontrollable. She was angry, face red, crying so loudly- still clinging on to my legs. How i managed to walk all the way to the car i really cannot remember, cos that stubborn girl refused to give up. Along with her crying , she coughed and puked too! My heart so pain, just want to baobao her - but i know if i give in she will use this on us again. Sigh.... end up she stopped her crying once we got into the car, cos i had to carry her up. Dunno if she actually won this battle, or we did.
Midnight Tantrum
Friday night at 4 am, our dear girl woke up cos of her wheezing and decided she is very wide awake and its a good time to watch her BST VCD. So she went, "Baby.. Baby.. signing please at the same time" Of cos cannot lah! she went on and on... so Mummy carried her and tried to sleep her.. but she keep pointing at this and that and talk and talk and periodically ask for "Baby.. baby (signing time)!"... until Mummy got fed up and set her down on the bed and pretended to sleep. Bo Hue her!! Daddy too... and she got so furious, she started wailing non-stop for half hour.. (feels like eternity to Mummy.. heart pain pain - somemore she was sick mah) - finally she cried herself to sleep...
Daddy said its another successful Cry It Out episode..
Mummy "sim tia" see her fell asleep with her face sticky with tears..
